2026 Solar Eclipse · Hotel Faisanera Golf · Segovia, Spain

On August 12, 2026, at 7:30 PM, the eclipse will begin over Spain. At 8:31 PM, the Sun will completely disappear. A few minutes you will never forget.

A solar eclipse is unlike anything else. The light transforms, the birds go quiet, and suddenly everyone looks up. It’s one of those moments you can never truly describe until you’ve lived it.

At Hotel Faisanera Golf, we have prepared a complete experience to enjoy this unique moment from a privileged setting, with open horizons and the mountain sky above you.

Whether you stay overnight or not, we have thought of you.

Room + breakfast + Solar Eclipse package included. The package adds a supplement to the room rate, which includes:

  • Historical and scientific talk “Under the Signs of the Sky” with Ricardo A. González.
  • Certified eclipse glasses for safe viewing of the eclipse.
  • Eclipse cocktail — with or without alcohol.
  • Book giveaway by the author among attendees.

Limited availability. Book as soon as possible to get the best room rate.

If you want to make the night even more perfect, the Embarcadero Restaurant, located next to the hotel, will prepare a special Eclipse Menu (€40 per person). You can request it when booking your room or at least 72 hours before the event.

Join the program from the start, €15 per person: talk, certified eclipse glasses and Eclipse Cocktail, with and without alcohol options included.

If you would like to complete the evening and stay for dinner at the Embarcadero Restaurant, a special Eclipse Menu will be available (€40 per person) with advance reservation.

Book at least 72 hours in advance to guarantee your table.

Check-in opens at 2:30 PM. Arrive, settle in, and enjoy the afternoon before everything begins.

Welcome. Eclipse Cocktail.

6:00 PM   Talk “Under the Signs of the Sky” with Ricardo A. González.

7:30 PM   The eclipse begins. The Moon starts to cover the Sun — partial phase. Time to put on your glasses and find the best viewing angle.

8:31 PM   Totality. The Sun disappears completely for approximately one minute. The sky darkens, the temperature drops, and something truly extraordinary happens.

8:32 PM — 9:24 PM  The eclipse continues in its partial phase as the Sun moves towards the horizon. The spectacle does not end with totality.

Afterwards, for those who wish and have a reservation, dinner will be served at the Embarcadero Restaurant with a special Eclipse Menu.

The following day, breakfast is included. The rest of the day is yours.

There was an eclipse that stopped a battle. Another that saved an admiral. Another that silenced an entire army. Ricardo A. González, a historical communicator and creator of the MUCAIN virtual museum, has spent years reconstructing these stories.

His talk, “Under the Signs of the Sky. Eclipses, Comets and Omens That Changed the Course of History”, is the perfect introduction to what comes next: knowing what you are looking at when the Sun disappears completely changes the experience.

At 8:31 PM, in the hotel surroundings, with an open horizon and the mountain sky above, it happens. Approximately one minute of totality. That brief, and that extraordinary. Among attendees, the author’s books will also be raffled — a memory of a night that needed nothing more.

Hotel Faisanera Golf is located in Palazuelos de Eresma, less than an hour from Madrid. A peaceful setting surrounded by pine forests, with direct access to everything that makes this province so special.

The Segovia Aqueduct, standing for two thousand years without a single drop of mortar. The gardens of La Granja Royal Palace, with their fountains and peaceful silence. The Valsaín pine forests. The La Faisanera golf course. And Segovian cuisine — roast suckling pig, roast lamb, and La Granja beans — flavours you never forget.

You can arrive the day before or stay for additional nights. Check availability when booking.

Where is the best place to see the 2026 solar eclipse in Spain?

Segovia is one of the best options: clear skies in August, altitude and open natural spaces. At Hotel Faisanera Golf, you will experience it in a privileged setting, with a completely unobstructed western horizon.

Do I need special glasses to watch the solar eclipse?

Yes, they are included in the package. Looking directly at the Sun without proper protection can cause serious eye damage. All attendees will receive certified eclipse glasses.

In Segovia, the eclipse begins at 7:30 PM in the partial phase. Totality arrives at 8:31 PM and lasts approximately one minute. After that, the eclipse continues in its partial phase until 9:24 PM. It is the first total eclipse visible from the Iberian Peninsula in more than a century.

What happens if it is cloudy on the day of the eclipse?

We have alternatives prepared to follow the event through specialized broadcasts. You won’t miss the moment.

How far in advance do I need to book dinner at the Embarcadero Restaurant?

At least 72 hours before August 12. This is essential to guarantee your table with the special Eclipse Menu.

Can I come just for the eclipse night without staying at the hotel?

Yes. The package for external visitors costs €15 per person and includes the talk, eclipse glasses and the Eclipse Cocktail. Dinner at the Embarcadero Restaurant is available as an additional option for €40 per person.

Can I stay for more than one night?

Of course. You can arrive the day before or stay the following day to explore Segovia at your leisure. Check availability when making your reservation.

The sky doesn’t change its date.

Bookings are now open. Limited capacity.
